What your invoice should include
- Your business name, contact details and, if VAT-registered, your VAT number
- Your customer’s name and the job address
- A quote or invoice number and the date
- Each item of labour and materials, with quantity and price
- The total due, the payment due date and how to pay
Tips for photographer invoices
- Separate shoot time from editing. Clients underestimate how long editing takes.
- Ask for a booking deposit and put the balance due date before you deliver the gallery.
- Say on the quote how many edited photos are included and when they will be delivered.
Questions
Should photographers take a deposit?
Yes. A non-refundable booking deposit protects the date. State it on the quote with the balance due date.
How do I charge for travel?
Charge per kilometre beyond an included distance, or a fixed travel fee. Show it as its own line.
Is this template free?
Yes. Edit it and create a PDF as often as you like. When you want to send quotes and invoices by email or WhatsApp and get paid online, VumaBill has a free plan.
